It has a book matched solid Sitka spruce top, high gloss buckle rash and scratch free mahogany back& sides, rosewood bridge and totally pristine fretboard. This guitar is nearly devoid of scratches, nicks, bumps and other things associated with use, handling& age because of it's sheltered life. I cleaned it up, restrung it, adjusted the action a smidgin& Bob's your uncle. There is where it sat for 33 years until I bought from the person who bought it from the original owner. This was purchased new right around then and the owner took a few lessons, decided that it wasn't for them and put it back in it's case. This particular guitar is a DM-4 and was made in Korea around 1980. Each guitar was sent back to the Martin plant in PA and if it did not pass the rigorous inspection, it did not sell as a Sigma. for those in the American market that wanted Martin quality but at an import price. These were designed, licensed, backed, inspected and marketed by Martin& Co. Mahogany back& sides dread naught acoustic.
Here is a nearly flawless circa 1980 Sigma by Martin acoustic DM-4 solid sitka spruce book matched top.
